Recommendations for Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic condition characterized by facial redness with a tendency to flush easily. It is also common to have small blood vessels visible near the surface of the skin. Rosacea may appear as redness, prominent spider-like blood vessels and swelling with a burning or stinging sensation. Pimples or red bumps (papules) are sometimes present, and this type of rosacea can be easily confused with acne. Usually the nose, chin and cheeks are the worst affected areas. There is no known cure for rosacea.

Skin affected by rosacea tends to be very sensitive, so you should be very careful what you apply to it.

  • Before you try any new cream or wash, try it first on a small “test area “of your face and observe the reaction.
  • Clean your face with the Rosacea Cleansing Gel by applying a thin layer, and massaging gently with your fingers. Do not scrub! Rinse it off with lukewarm water. Blot dry, but do not rub, with a soft cotton towel.
  • Wait for your skin to dry completely, and apply the Rosacea Moisturizer or Rosacea Nourishing Cream.
  • It is extremely important to be aware of your sun exposure, as this can worsen your rosacea condition. Be sure to apply sun-block as a part of your daily routine, especially during the summer. Commercial sun blocks are very harsh on your skin; they contain lots of heavy chemical which can aggravate the redness and inflammation.
